Meet: various locations around Jewellery Quarter, City Centre and Digbeth

In partnership with Verve Poetry Festival, the launch of the Overhear poetry- collecting App developed by Tom Peel. A selection of venues around Birmingham (cafés, restaurants and bars) have signed up to have a poem embedded in their digital fabric, collectable only by visiting the venue (and ideally enjoying refreshments there too). To lead into the experience, Ben Waddington joins the dots between several of the venues with a series of guided tours that celebrate the city’s own hidden rhythms, feet and other poetic sensibilities. Live readings and comments from the poets as well as digital harvesting of the poems. Gotta catch ‘em all!

About Ben:

Ben Waddington steers audiences away from the 'dates and data’ approach to guided tours, focusing more on how we feel about spaces and places and what we can determine simply by stopping and looking. By declaring your presence to the city, its quiet voices and invisible rhythms and can begin to be heard. Ben is the director of Still Walking Festival
