The rise and fall of the smaller cinema building coincides closely with the twentieth century, from the earliest experiments in projecting moving images in a public space to the out-of-town multiplex. Most smaller theatres have either been demolished or have blended into the surrounding urban fabric. Invisible Cinema seeks out these vestigial traces, looking at what remains of these buildings and how they have been adapted to their new purpose. Invisible Cinema invites the audience to emerge themselves in a nostalgic journey and share their memories of past cinema going days.
