A compact guided tour offered to attendees of the launch of 111 Places in Birmingham That You Shouldn’t Miss at Ikon Gallery, during which three members of the assembled group learnt that they had an official blue plaque. The walk visited a selection of places local to the gallery, including Oliver Beer’s Outside-In sculpture, Brindleyplace’s Zen garden made by Paul De Moncheax, the ICC’s elusive Emergence of Women tapestry, David Patten’s Baskerville sculpture Industry and Genius, the new Duran Duran plaque and the Black Sabbath bench. Unlike other guided tours that only include Birmingham’s top ten places, this one went up to eleven.
